Renée Nichols returned to Summer Lake because she had nowhere left to turn. Her marriage, the charity she spent her life building, her entire life—they were all shattered when her husband was arrested. She’s getting by, even if barely standing on her own two feet. She has a job, even if it’s not the greatest. She has her childhood home to live in, even if it’s barely livable.

Gabe Morgan is back in town, too—even if he’s only visiting. Every time she gets around him her heart rate and her temperature soar, but that’s just her overactive imagination, isn’t it? He might be even hotter now than he was in high school, but he’s still the town’s golden boy. He’s the town doctor’s son, she’s the town drunk’s daughter. He’s one of life’s good guys, he’ll help her out because it’s what he does. But that’s all.

Gabe Morgan has been spending as much time as he can back in Summer Lake—though he couldn’t tell you why. He’s a partner in a successful firm of trial attorneys in New York City. Summer Lake 10 - Dream Like Nothing’s Impossible - April and Eddie

Published - 24 Aug. 2016

April brought her son Marcus to Summer Lake to escape their old life--to escape her ex husband, Guy. She's spent the last couple of months building a new life. It might not seem like she has much. She has a job at the bakery, they live in a little rented house, but as far as April's concerned she has everything she needs. She has Marcus and she has her freedom.

And she has a little crush, too, on Eddie, the drummer with the band at the resort. She knows it's crazy, what would a guy like him see in a woman like her? When he asks if she'd like to spend some time with him, she knows it's only because all their friends are coupled up. It's not much fun being single at the lake, so if the two of them can help each other out, then why not?

Eddie's tired of the life he's been living. He's done the partying and the groupies, and they were never really his thing anyway, they just went with the lifestyle. These days he'd rather hang out at his house on the water, he'd rather fish from the dock or just chill than party. He'd rather get to know April, but he knows a girl like her wouldn't be interested in a guy like him. Still, Eddie made a promise to her son that he'd teach him to play guitar. The little dude seems to have lived through enough disappointment in his life already. Eddie doesn't intend to let him down, and if that means he gets to hang out with April, too, then everybody wins, right?

These two are both ready to take their lives in a new direction, but before they can they'll each have to break free of the past.

The Hamiltons book 2 - Champagne and Daisies  - Chelsea and Grant

Published - 12 Jan. 2018

One night out. One balmy evening in Napa Valley. One man, letting loose before embarking on a new business venture. One woman, letting her hair down after another fight with her father over how she runs her winery—and her life. One too many glasses of wine. What does it all add up to? A one night stand.

Chelsea Hamilton has led a charmed life. She’s a golden girl who has it all. She grew up in the lap of luxury surrounded by a loving family. She’s no spoiled little rich girl, though. She has a huge heart, a kind heart, a giving heart – a heart that sometimes blinds her to the more practical considerations in life—and business. She just wants to be allowed to run the winery her way. Okay, so the profit margins might not be in line with the rest of Hamilton-Groves, but it’s not like she’s making a loss.

Unfortunately, her father believes she can be brought into line and he’s hired Grant Dawson to turn the winery around, and to teach Chelsea a few lessons in the process.

Grant’s eager to prove his worth to the patriarch of Hamilton-Groves. He’s masterminded dozens of successful corporate turnarounds. He doesn’t foresee many difficulties in whipping a little winery into shape. It should be a straightforward job that will hopefully lead to more work with the Hamilton Groves Corporation.
It should be, it would be—if the woman he’s supposed to be helping wasn’t the very same woman he hasn’t been able to get out of his mind since he let her out of his bed twenty-four hours ago. How’s he supposed to focus on turning the business around when he doesn’t know if he’s more infuriated or infatuated? Whichever it is, Chelsea’s fighting him every step of the way.

He ran a hedge fund worth hundreds of billions—until he got bored. His latest project, Six, a nightclub in LA is another winner. It’s both a successful business and a playground full of playmates.

He’s never met an obstacle he couldn’t overcome or a woman he couldn’t have. Until now.

While there are six sexy cowboy brothers in the MacFarland family, their sister, Jane, would never describe herself as sexy, or even good-looking. As far as she's concerned, she's just plain Jane - and she's fine with that.

She doesn't need people lying to her to make her feel better about herself. She’s good at her job and takes good care of all her animals. She’s a decent person, and that’s all that matters.

Her brothers and her friends know better than to try and talk her up. But newcomer to the valley, Rocket, hasn't learned yet. He keeps telling her that she's beautiful. She keeps telling him that he's mistaken.

Rocket had a rough childhood - to put it mildly. He grew up in foster care, shunted from one placement to the next. He mostly prefers animals to people. Animals are more straightforward and honest with their emotions. He's landed himself in trouble in the past protecting them, but he has no regrets.

Women have always thrown themselves at him, and he doesn't mind obliging them. They only want him for one thing, and that's the only thing he's interested in sharing with them.

Until Janey. She's the kind of woman he thought he'd never meet. She's smart; she's a veterinarian. She loves animals just as much as he does. She's kind and has the biggest heart. She's the most beautiful person he's ever known and ... she claims that she's not interested.

She refuses to believe him when he tells her that she's beautiful. She tells him that he's mistaken. But he's not.

There's no mistaking the fact that he's falling hard for her, but how will he convince her that she's everything he wants?

Just a few months later, she’s alone in a new town, with no boyfriend, no friends – and not much of a life. She stayed because she made a commitment to the children she works with, but when the school year is over, she’ll have to head home to Kansas and admit that her parents were right.

She’s making the most of her life in Napa while she’s there, though. She’s been forcing herself to go out and do things. She made a deal with herself that she’d accept any invitation that was offered to her. It might not be much fun by herself, but it beats sitting at home alone.

When one of her favorite pupils, Ava, invites her to a Christmas tree lighting event at the Jacob’s estate, Becca has no idea that her life is about to get turned on its head. She doesn’t know much about wine, and even less about winemakers – but Ava’s Uncle Jacob has her eager to learn more.

She might live and work in a male-dominated industry but coming from a family with six brothers and a sadistic father, she learned early in life how to hold her own with men.

She’s achieved everything she set out to, professionally. But when it comes to her personal life, she’s not achieved much of anything at all. She left home when she was eighteen, not to get away from all the men in her family, but to get away from the one man she couldn’t have – well, never except that one time. Her sister wanted her gone, too, so that just made it easier for her to leave.

Her life has started to feel more and more empty lately. She’s ready to make a change, to go out and conquer new mountains. The trouble is, the only mountains she really wants to conquer are the ones back home in Paradise Valley, Montana.

Her sister is married now, and they’ve made their peace. Her brothers have grown into men she likes and respects – and wouldn’t mind working with again. But that one man she could never have? He’s still there in the valley, and as hard as she’s tried to forget him, she’s never been able to.

Luke Wallis did his best to stay away from Laney when she was a kid – she was his best friend’s kid sister, what else was he supposed to do? He spent so much time with the MacFarland boys growing up that he might as well have been one of them. He fell in love with Laney when she was still in high school. But he did the right thing; he never acted on his feelings for her – well, never except that one time.

When she left town, he thought that she’d forget about him and move on with her life. He thought that he’d do the same. He was wrong. On both counts. It’s been torture every time she’s come home over the years. Each time he’s seen her it’s torn him up more. Now, she’s home to stay, and being around her but not being with her might just tear him apart.
